The word Calavera means skulls. Calavera poems are made for the Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos), in Mexico. The poems are written to poke fun at people in a way that suggests they're dead. They can be written about people who are dead or alive but are usually written about people who are alive.
I did my Calavera poem about Michael Jackson. I wrote about what he looked like, (black hair, brown eyes, etc.), I also wrote about what he likes to do, (sing and dance), then I wrote about how he died. |
